Tired of waking up every morning with dark circles under your eyes and tangled, unmanageable hair? Here are 10 simple ways to wake up looking gorgeous.
1. Lock the moisture in
Moisturizing helps prevent your skin from becoming too dry or oily, which help prevent skin problems like acne and blemishes. Moisturizer also helps seal the water in our skin which can reduce the appearance of fine lines.
2. Use a silk pillowcase
If you’re using cotton pillowcases, the cotton creates friction between your hair and the pillowcase. On the other hand, silk fabric reduces friction and lets your hair glide easily, helping to prevent split ends and breakage. Plus, there are claims that they help prevent sleep lines that lead to premature aging.
3. Cleanse your face
Cleansing is an essential step since it removes makeup, excess oil and dirt that accumulates on your face throughout the day. Going to bed with clean skin allows your skin to breathe and also helps any skin product, such as anti-aging or acne creams, you put on pentrate your skin more easily during the night.
4. Sleep on your back
If you sleep on your sides or stomach, your skin can be more prone to facial lines and eye bags, and these lines may even become permanent over time. Try to sleep on your back to help prevent thse facial lines and wrinkles.
5. Banish eye bags
No one wants to wake up with swollen eyes. One way to help prevent that is to use two pillows and sleeping on your back. This will help fluids circulate more around your eyes and help prevent puffiness.
6. Apply dry shampoo before bed
If you want to get one more day out of your hairstyle, try applying dry shampoo to your roots. Sure, you can do this in the morning, but that extra time allows the product to absorb excess oil, giving you fresh, bouncy hair that smells great, too.
7. Moisturize your lips
Just like your skin, your lips also need hydration. Get soft and smooth lips by applying a lip balm before going to bed. By doing this, it has more time to absorb without any disruptions from eating or drinking.
8. Soften hands and feet
We all struggle with dry and cracked hands and feet every now and then. Before going to bed, apply Vaseline to your hands and feet, massage them until completely absorbed, and cover with gloves and socks. The gloves and socks will seal in moisture in and will allow you to slather the Vaseline on your skin and prevent making a mess.
9. Lengthen your lashes
Who doesn’t want long, thick lashes? Castor oil promotes eyelash growth and helps them yo grow thicker and longer. Make sure to use a clean mascara wand when you do this. Leave it on your lashes overnight and wash it off in the morning with warm water. You won’t see results overnight, but if you do this on a regular basis for a few months, you will.
10. Use a humidifier
Dry air paired with cold temps can cause skin dryness. Humidifiers add moisture back into the environment and can help your skin retain hydration. And they’re also beneficial during the summer months too when you crank your air conditioner high which causes the moisture levels to decline in the air.
