These grilled bacon, cheddar turkey burgers are so juicy and flavorful, they’ll soon become your new go-to burgers.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup cheddar or Swiss cheese, shredded
1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
1/4 cup fine breadcrumbs
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
salt and pepper
olive oil to brush the burgers with for grilling
4 buns or rolls for serving
Directions
Preheat grill to medium-high heat and oil the grill grates.
In a large bowl, add the turkey, cooked bacon, cheese, onion, barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and mix to combine.
Form 4 patties. They are quite soft, so place them on a plate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, or in the freezer for 30-60 minutes. This will help prevent them from falling apart while grilling.
Brush some olive oil on both sides of the patties. Place burgers on the grill. Grill burgers on each side for 5-6 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
Enjoy.
