22 Ways to Save at Aldi

Aldi has become one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at. Every time I shop there, I know that I’ve spent at least 30% less than I would have at any other store. And since I’ve been shopping there for the past few years, I’ve figured out some great deals that you can find there. Check out these 22 ways to save money at Aldi.

1. Check out their weekly ad
Aldi advertises weekly sales in their weekly ad. You can find it in your local paper, on their website, or on the Aldi app.

2. Download the app
Download the Aldi app on your phone for the latest Aldi news and deals. The Aldi app offers great features like Weekly Ads, Aldi Finds, Shopping List Creator, QR Code Reader, Store Locator, and more. Don’t want to download the app?You can find their weekly ads and other deals online.

3. Shop on sales start dates
I try to shop at Aldi on Wednesdays when sales start. Their merchandise tends to go quickly, so make sure to shop early so you don’t miss out.

4. Be an Aldi insider
Subscribe to their email list to get a weekly newsletter that’s full of exclusive deals and discounts. It’s totally free.

5. Follow them on social media
Follow their social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest) for even more deals.

6. Always heck the bargain bins
If you’re looking for the best deals, don’t pas by the bargain bins that are located at the front of the store. Most grocery stores carry impulse buys in the front, but not Aldi. You’ll never know what you’ll find in these bins, and they are necessary items, not frivolous impulse item, offered at incredibly steep discounts.

7. Check out seasonal sales
Keep a look out for special buys on seasonal, non-food items, ad make sure to check back at the end of the season when they slash prices very low to make room for new items.

8. Check out their theme weeks
Aldi has theme weeks where they have deals on themes like fitness, ethnic cuisine, holidays, and more.

9. Look for discount stickers
In addition to their weekly ads and other great deals, keep a look out for random discount stickers in-store.

10. Use store brands
Just like other grocery stores, Aldi has its own brands of products that are less expensive than national brands. They have nearly two dozen store brands, which can save you up to 50% of your grocery bill. Plus, the brands are tested to ensure that they meet or beat the quality of national brands.

11. Buy their organic foods
If you’re into eating healthy food, buy organic and gluten-free food at Aldi where you’ll find the best prices anywhere! Aldi has an organic product line called Simply Nature and their gluten-free products are called Living Gfree.

12. Get the best prices on eggs
You won’t find cheaper eggs anywhere, I’m always amazed at how cheap their eggs are. They’re almost always under $1 a dozen. I usually buy two at a time so that we have them for breakfasts, baking and to make hard-boiled for salads and sandwiches.

13. You’ll also get a great deal on milk
Aldi also has the cheapest milk out of anywhere. There is usually a limit on how much you can purchase, but the limit is high.

14. Great prices on fresh fruit and vegetables
You can find some great deals on fresh fruit and vegetables. They have a great selection of seasonal and organic produce that’s often costs less than it is at other grocery stores.

15. Take advantage of 50% off items
The bakery at Aldi marks down baked goods 50% off two days before they expire. They’re still fresh and tasty; you just need to make sure that you consume them quickly.

16. Use the Aldi double back guarantee
If you’re not satisfied with a food purchase, you an return it and replace it with an equal item and get your money back! That’s the best return policy anywhere! You will need your receipt, and the Double Guarantee doesn’t apply to non-food items, alcohol, and national brands.

17. Stock Up on canned goods
You really can’t beat the prices on canned goods—they cost about 50% less than national brands and even less than other store brands. So make sure to stock up on your favorite soups, vegetables, fruits, and more to fill your pantry with little money.

18. Use cash back apps
Aldi doesn’t take manufacturers coupons, but you can use the following cash back apps to save even more off their already incredibly low prices. Get the apps free on your cell phone at Google Play or the App Store to earn cash back.

• Checkout 51
Checkout 51 updates their list of items every Thursday. Most of these products are national brands, but you can find some great deals on other items with heir “Pick your Own Offers” feature. Checkout 51 will send you a check in the mail once you’ve reached $20 in rewards.

• ReceiptHog
ReceiptHog makes it even easier to save because you don’t have to buy specific items to get cash back. You just upload your receipt to earn coins, and each receipt will earn you up to 20 coins depending on how much money you spend. Once you have 500 coins, you can redeem them for a $5 Amazon or PayPal ift card.

19. Get great deals on meat
The best day to shop for meat at Aldi is on Wednesdays. They offer a fresh mat special every Wednesday—and its often top cuts of meat at really low prices.

Here’s a tip: Shop early on Wednesdays if you can to make sure that you don’t miss out. The meat specials are often in limited quantities, and it’s first come, first serve.

20. Get great deals on cereal
Aldi brand cereal tastes just as good as name brands, and for less than $2 a box, it’s a great deal. And the boxes a huge.

21. Bring your own bags
Aldi doesn’t provide bags like other grocery stores do. You can either buy their plastic bag—if the store even stocks them—or you can save some money by bringing your own reusable bags to pack your groceries.

22. Look for empty boxes
Even if you forget your bags at home, you may not have to buy bags if you use this simple hack. Keep your eyes open for empty boxes in the aisles of the store, and use those to pack your groceries.
