    Old Spanish Days Fiesta
    Santa Barbara

    The Old Spanish Fiesta Days is a longtime Santa Barbara summer tradition. The 5-day event lets visitors immerse themselves in the history, customs, and traditions of the Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and early American settlers that shaped Santa Barbara's identity. Website

    Guests can get a taste of what Brea has cooking at the family-friendly Brea Fest.     Getty Garden Concerts for Kids

    The Getty Center's Garden Concerts for Kids returns this August with three weekends of shows. The free outdoor music series for kids and their families features some of the best children's musical artists from across the nation. Kids have a blast rolling in the grass and running through the garden, as well as dancing and singing along with the music. This weekend features Grammy and Latin Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Flor Bromley. Website

    La Habra Back-to-School Block Party

    La Habra kicks of back-to-school season with a free Block Party in Portola Park. Families are invited for a morning of fun, community, and free school supplies for K–8 students. This event is open to students of schools in La Habra. Each student must be present at event to receive supplies. Website

    Rocket Fever!

    Saturday, August 8
    The Columbia Memorial Space Center invites families to a fun-filled day of rocketing, with interactive Space Center exhibits, hands-on rocket activities, and exhibitor booths.     The Ford's LA Soundscapes is inspired by LA’s culturally rich neighborhoods and communities. Each LA Soundscapes family event features a pre-concert activity and participatory artmaking. The season opener is a celebration of first peoples and place.     How to Train Your Dragon in Concert

    When a young Viking defies tradition and befriends a ferocious dragon, together they must fight against all odds to save both their worlds.     Directing Our Future: Teen Short Film Showcase
    Mid-Wilshire - FREE

    The next generation of Los Angeles filmmakers debut their creations at the Academy Museum. The Academy Museum Tea Room hosts a screening of short films selected by the museum’s Teen Council, who challenged their peers to create a short film highlighting an aspect in their community they feel passionate about, or that they feel needs attention.
