Crockpot General Tso's Chicken
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 3 hours hrs 30 minutes
Total Time: 3 hours hrs 35 minutes
Servings: 4-6 servings
Ingredients
3 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts, thawed
12.6 oz. House of Tsang General Tso Stir Fry Sauce (or Trader Joe's General Tsao Sauce)
8 dried thai chili peppers
2 chopped green onions
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Directions
Place chicken in crockpot and place dried thai chilies on top and cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours (covered).
After 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW, drain juices from crockpot.
Remove chicken, cut into cubes, then place back in crock pot. (retain Thai Chilies in Crock Pot--you can remove them before serving)
Pour General Tso Sauce over chicken, then cook on HIGH for 30 more minutes (covered), or until done.
Serve over white rice, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes: Draining the juices will result in a more flavorful and thicker sauce.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
