For most of us, saving money is a challenge that we face every day. There are ways to save money without it being such a struggle. Try one or more of these ideas, and you’ll find yourself building your savings without much effort.
.) Pay yourself first. With each paycheck, make sure to put a certain amount directly into your savings account.
.) Pay with cash. If you want to save money, you have to keep control of your spending and one of the most effective ways to do this is by using cash for purchases.
.) Save your change. This may be an old trick, but it’s amazing how much you can save by placing your leftover change in a jar every day.
.) Save dollar bills. Take any dollar bills that you still have in your wallet at the end of the day and place them in the jar with the extra change. Since a one dollar bill is such a small amount, you’ll hardly notice that it's gone, but you’ll definitely notice the nice amount that you're able to save over time.
.) Save your savings. Between coupons and money-savings apps, we have many opportunities to save on daily purchases. Save more by putting those savings back.
.) Wait to make a purchase. By giving yourself a waiting period, you will eliminate a lot of unnecessary purchases.
.) Use a cash-back credit card. If you are disciplined with credit cards, this will work for you. These cards give you a percentage back on your purchases which you can put back into savings.
.) Stop wasting money on avoidable expenses. Are you paying unnecessary bank fees or using all the minutes on your cell phone plan? Take a look at your monthly bills and check for any unused expenses to lower your bills.
.) Make extra money. There are plenty of opportunities to earn money online. From earning cash back with sites like Ebates, to doing simple online tasks like doing online searches with Swagbucks.
.) Sock extra money away. Whenever you get a pay raise, tax refund, or earn extra money from a side hustle, immediately put it into your savings.
