Paper Plate Bee

My son is pretty excited since it's the time of year to make bug crafts. We started with this easy bee craft made using a paper plate and a few other paper materials.

First, have your child color or paint a portion of the plate black for the head. Then, cut small pieces out of yellow tissue paper so your children can glue them onto the plate. Cut three strips of black construction paper and glue them on top of the tissue paper.

Cut two white circles for the wings and attach them to the sides of the back of the plate. Take a black pipe cleaner and bend it in half. Then bend the two ends to make the antennae. Tape the pipe cleaner where it is bent to the back of the plate, so the antennae shows. Add some googly eyes and let your child have fun with his new bee friend.
